EDI Support

  • lifETIME have placed EDI at the heart of its activities and we are committed to promoting equality in all activities. Below are some examples of how we deliver our commitment:

    1. We offer part-time studentships, childcare support for conference attendance, flexible working for carers as well as prompting work-life balance.
    2. We offer EDI funding to support applications from widening participation backgrounds and for those who require additional EDI support. We can provide additional funding of £2k p.a. on top of the standard monthly, tax-free stipend that all students will receive.
    3. All UK universities (University of Glasgow, University of Birmingham, and Aston University) are  Disability Confident Employers. Disability Confident is a UK government scheme designed to encourage employers to recruit and retain disabled people and those with health conditions.
    4. As friends of the Cowrie Scholarship Foundation we fully support their vision to create new futures for 100 disadvantaged Black British students through education. We welcome applications from disadvantaged Black British students.
    5. Our students have a voice, heard through the EDI student forum, where students have the opportunity to speak directly to the EDI committee.
    6. Support for candidates invited to interview is provided with the opportunity to speak directly to a disability advisory.
    7. All our staff have undertaken unconscious bias, EDI training and supervisor training before supervising students.
